Open Doors, an advocate for persecuted Christians around the world writes: 
"This International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) is the time for Christians to pray with their brothers and sisters in India. India recently moved into the top 10 on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most dangerous countries in the world for Christians. Believers in India are often shunned, unjustly arrested, attacked—even killed—because they choose to follow Jesus and not Hinduism or the local religion. Our Indian family needs the prayers of the global church this IDOP to stand strong in the midst of persecution—and to remain a light for Christ in the world’s second-most populated country."
In the six states Kerusomen has churches, there has been a 77.5% increase in incidents of persecution reported... 
from January 1-October 14, 2019 compared to the same months last year according to MapViolence.in that tracks incidents of "targeted violence against Christians" in India. These include 7 mob violence attacks, 18 physical assaults, 55 restrictions on religious assembly, 68 incidents of intimidation and threats, and 14 reports of damages to church property.

  • Pray that they would be strengthened in their faith through the Holy Spirit: “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” Ephesians 3:16
  • Pray that the peace and presence of Christ will sustain them: “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
  • Pray that God will give them words of life to speak to those who persecute them: “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” Luke 12:11-12
