WHY A SPECIAL EVENT FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL?
In 2022, families in India were still struggling to recover from the economic decline caused by the pandemic. Hundreds of thousands of families in India dropped below the poverty line earning less than $3 a day. Naturally, churches were impacted by the loss of jobs and income their believers suffered.
In the spring of that year, Dr. Simon, founder of KGM India told us children were approaching him in the street to ask if Vacation Bible School would be held that summer.(VBS had been shut-down due to Covid for two years.)
The KGM churches in India had been fund-raising for this important outreach program but it looked like children might be turned away for lack of resources.
The Kerusomen Board here in America couldn't bear the thought of children missing out on learning about Jesus so we held our first annual Dessert Dash that year and KGM partners sent 1,000 children to VBS - and had a ball doing it! Total attendance at VBS that year was 2,000. Twice the amount that had attended prior to the pandemic. That did it. We were hooked!
In 2023, KGM partners gathered again at Dessert Dash and this time sent 2,444 kids to Vacation Bible School more than doubling the previous year - again! - for a total of more than 5,000 children who enjoyed VBS in seven different India states where KGM has churches. All 83 churches participated.

That's why we hold a special event just for VBS.
KGM VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is an important part of its church planting and outreach efforts to people in India who have never heard of Jesus.
Kerusomen has a comprehensive follow-up program with the families of children who attend VBS. The parents are invited to church and are encouraged to allow their children to attend Sunday School. Pastors of KGM Churches and believers visit the homes of these families regularly to offer prayer and even enroll some widows with children and families who qualify for our income-generating programs to help them lift themselves out of poverty.
In essence, the VBS ministry is a spring-board to reaching children, parents, families, and entire communities for Jesus.

Funding for KGM Children's Ministries year-round is done by supplementing believer tithes through KGM USA's FOUNTAIN COMMUNITY where partners pool their resources so our pastor- missionaries are equipped to do outreach work to non-Christian families in their villages and pioneer work in new villages.

Your monthly gift of ANY amount goes directly to the mission field and supplements believer tithes to help KGM churches, led by native pastors, reach out to new villages who have never heard of Jesus.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?
It costs $10 to send two children to VBS for an entire week but in the Fountain community, it doesn’t matter how much someone can give. It’s all about what God can accomplish through us when we work together. The Fountain Community partners commit to give a regular monthly amount, whatever God lays on their hearts, and agree to pool all these resources into one fund that helps our pastors plant more churches in new villages. Fountain members are currently providing funds for 83 KGM churches.
