During KGM's 2025 mission trip to India, Kathy Caprio spent time visiting with several of the widows who are benefitting from KGM's Widow Rescue Ministry; Pushpa was one of those she interviewed.
When Pushpa was widowed, she had no education and no financial assets. Since her family refused to help her, she took menial labor jobs delivering heavy loads by carrying them on her head. The pay was poor but Pushpa managed to school her son and send him off to find a good job. He did and never looked back; Pushpa was once again abandoned.
When KGM found her, Pushpa was struggling to make ends meet. The physical labor she had done for years was now impossible for her crippled body.
Kathy found out during her visit that Pushpa has stomach cancer but when Kathy expressed her sympathy, Pushpa smiled and said, "I was on the way to have surgery today when Saha called to tell me you were here. It was more important to see you."
Who does that? No one! No one except a widow in India who wanted to make sure Kathy told every KGM USA partner how grateful she is for this ministry.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Currently KGM partners provide 60 widows with food, medicine, and weekly visits but there are literally millions of widows in India who have been abandoned by their families. We also have provided many many more widows with chickens or goats so they can farm their own eggs and milk and make extra income from the leftovers.
$15 a month supplies one widow with food, medicine, and weekly visits. You can change a widow's life right now.
