ADVENT PRAYERS

JOIN US IN PRAYER

                                                GOD BLESS YOU

FIRST SUNDAY: HOPE
The word Advent means "coming" in Latin. For believers there are three meanings of coming. The first was 2,000 years ago when Jesus came into the world as a baby to live as a man and die for us. That day we celebrate at Christmas when THE HOPE of the world “became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”

LET'S PRAY: We thank You, God, that Jesus is still the only Hope of the world. We celebrate the prophetic hope of a Savior, realized in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 9:6-7). We continue to hope in You as your presence strengthens our faith each day. (Rom. 15:3) In Jesus name, Amen.

SECOND SUNDAY: PEACE
Last Sunday we focused on the first meaning of the word Advent (or coming in Latin): Jesus coming to earth to live and die for us. This second Sunday of the Advent season we believers focus our hearts on the second meaning of the word coming: the coming of the Lord Jesus into our hearts giving us the gift of PEACE with God. “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

LET'S PRAY: We thank You, God, for the peace we have with You, through our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. Whatever our circumstances, calm our anxious hearts. Fill us with Your peace that transcends all understanding. (Phil. 4:7) Forgive us our weaknesses and help us live in peace with our neighbor, an example of your Holy Spirit within us. (Col. 3:15) In Jesus name, Amen.

THIRD SUNDAY: JOY
The third Sunday of Advent is here. Over the last two Sundays we’ve celebrated the hope that arrived at Jesus' birth, His first advent (coming) and remembered with gratitude His second advent when we first believed in Him and His coming into our lives as Lord and Savior. Today we look with JOY to His second coming in the future when Jesus comes back to earth, not as a baby, but as King and Judge. “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” (2 Tim. 4:8) Let’s pray:

LET'S PRAY: We thank you, God, for the promise of Jesus’ second coming and ask that you fill us with Your JOY as we choose to live and depend on You every day until that great day arrives. (Rom. 15:13, John 15:11) We joyfully await and anticipate Your soon appearance! (Luke 2:10) In Jesus name, Amen.

FOURTH SUNDAY: LOVE
This year as we remember the reason for our Hope, Peace, Joy and Love, we also remember the unreached in India who have never heard the name of Jesus so they have yet to receive the Gift of His first coming, Amazing Grace, and therefore are without the daily grace of His second coming, the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts.

We invite you to join us as we pray with even greater passion for our KGM India pastors’ mission, so that when Christ returns triumphantly at His third coming, more Indians will greet Him as Lord, saved from judgment.

WE WISH YOU A VERY MERRY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS
