New Punjabi Pastor Training in Kerala, India / Kerusomen Gospel Ministries

"Thirsty to Learn": Five New Punjabi Pastors Travel 2,077 Miles for KGM Training

The 3rd Kerusomen Gospel Ministries Intensive Church Planters Training took place in Kerala, India from June 15-July 3, 2019.

It took 4 days and 3 nights of travel by train for 5 new church planters from Punjab to arrive in Kerala for the KGM church planters schooling. In an update from Pastor Saha, he reports "The training is going very well. They are thirsty to learn." The students began training each day at 8 a.m.; their last class of the day ended at 9 p.m. Intensive training of pastors is a hallmark of the KGM church planting movement...

KGM Trainers

Led by Pastors Saha and Anju Simon, the training ensures that future KGM churches are planted and led by Believers well equipped to faithfully preach the Word of God with the heart of God, creating strong and sustainable churches and movements in India.

Pastor Sahayadas Simon achieved two Masters Degrees, one in Divinity and the other in New Testament Theology at Hindustan Bible Institute. He is currently pursuing his PhD in New Testament Studies at Martin Luther Christian University.  He also serves as the Academic Dean to Trivandrum Bible College, an inter-denominational institution, where he recruits committed believers for the KGM ministry.

Pastor Anju Simon studied at the same schools as Pastor Saha where they met. After she achieved her Bachelor of Theology Degree, she was appointed Dean of Women at Grace Bible College. She went on to earn a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in Missions.

Intensive Training Courses

The 120 hour course covered six areas (20 hours for each subject) as listed below:
  1. Pastoral Care and Counseling
  2. Evangelism and Mission
  3. Church Planting
  4. Manual for Ministry & Church Administration
  5. Disciple Making & Common Manners
  6. Believer Basics & Problem Solving in Ministry and Mission Fields
The intensive training has a twofold purpose:
  • First, to help the pastors become more effective workers of God when they return home to their Punjab mission field;
  • Second, to help them fulfill some key requirements toward taking the exam to achieve a Certificate Degree in Theology (C.Th.).
In three months, another group of pastors from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be attending this same training at Kerusomen Gospel Ministry headquarters.

Please join us in persistent prayer for KGM Pastor Trainings.
Prayer for His generous provision and protection, along with His favor, kindness and His powerful working in each pastor who attends and for the seeds of the Gospel they sow to bear much fruit in the mission fields they serve.
