Christians Targeted in Kerala India - Kerusomen Gospel Ministries

Kerusomen Gospel Ministries Seeks Safe Place of Operation For Its Charitable Community Center Foundation Headquarters in Kerala, India

Pastor Saha has been holding church services and conducting all Kerusomen India operations from his home, a residential zone in Kerala.  Over time, his non-Christian neighbors have become more and more aggressive in their efforts to stop him. Because this is a residential area, Pastor Saha has had to proceed carefully but God has blessed his ministry with tremendous growth, despite this growing persecution.

4 Documented Incidents of Hate and Targeted Violence Against Christians in Kerala, India

The Evangelical Fellowship of India’s Religious Liberty Commission (EFIRLC) documented 77 incidents of hate and targeted violence against Christians in January and February, up from 49 cases during the same period last year. A 57% increase according to Morning Star News.
"Of the 77 incidents, 16 took place in Tamil Nadu state, 12 in Uttar Pradesh, six in Maharashtra and five in Chhattisgarh, the report found. The states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and, surprisingly, Kerala each saw four cases, followed by other states."  Rev. Vijayesh Lal, general secretary of the EFI, said.

Sadly, these documented incidents do not accurately represent the true state of Christian persecution in India.  According to the EFIRLC, "most cases go unreported either because the victim and witnesses are terrified, or the police, especially in the northern states, turn a blind eye and refuse to record mandatory First Information Reports."

This persecution of our brothers and sisters in India is heartbreaking to all of us who know Jesus as Lord.

But there is an inspiring silver lining in the midst of this: God's faithfulness.

Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

God Provides An Opening to Purchase Land for the Kerusomen Charitable Community Center

Last month God provided an opportunity to purchase land in Kerala that will enable Pastor Saha to start building the Center.

Pictured is the land in Kerala, India just a short distance from Pastor Saha's home. The land owner is Christian and the government has given Pastor Saha permission to build church facilities on it.  The nearly 1/2 acre parcel is situated on the exterior portion of the property next to a road, perfect for the center.  Because of your generous prayers and partnership, God provided the $17,000 down payment needed to secure the property on May 1st - a full 2 weeks before the payment was due! As always, we are humbled by God's goodness.

Many More Will Come to Know Christ Through the Center's Vital Outreach Ministries

Pastor Saha concentrates his efforts on the tribal people who are neglected most of the time by main line churches or charity organizations

These Unreached People Groups (UPG's) face extreme poverty, many eat just once or twice a day. Pastor Saha seeks "to make a great impact by providing social transformation through wholistic community development programs that exhibit the life of Christ in word and deed."

The Center, when completed, will provide a safe place to implement these programs including:

  1. Medical facility to dispense medicine and provide hygiene training for the poor
  2. School facility for kindergarten as well as dropouts and those who don't attend
  3. Widow Rescue with a sewing center where widows can earn a dignified living
  4. Training Center for Pastors who have or will plant churches in their villages
  5. Dorms & Cafeteria for rescue victims, pastors in training, conference attendees
  6. Church Building a safe place to worship God and be discipled

Pastor Saha and his wife Anju have worked tirelessly to reach the lost in India.  God has blessed and expanded their ministry to six states and nearly 50 churches planted in tribal belts (the least reached populations) in India despite growing persecution.

Thousands know Christ as their Lord and Savior because of their faithfulness and people like you who are helping them make it happen.

But, maybe you don't know the true value and impact your partnership has.

  • For instance, did you know that less than 3% of all missionary efforts worldwide go to working with unreached people groups or UPG's?
  • These are the very people groups Kerusomen and YOU (when you partner with us) are reaching and serving in India.
  • This is the work the new Kerusomen Charitable Community Center will expand and build on until the Gospel reaches everyone, everywhere in India.

Your giving is an act of trust. Thank you for your generosity.

You want impact. Thank you for your faithful stewardship.

We believe - thanks to people like you and God's  matchless grace - the KGM Center will be a resounding success that brings hope to the lost, help to the helpless and glory to our great God, but we still need your help.

Would you prayerfully consider a special gift today?  The balance to pay for the land in full is $14,000 due on August 1st.  The date was moved up so we have 30 days less than we thought to finalize the purchase.

The Apostle Paul said, "Thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else's foundation, but as it is written, 'Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.'" (Romans 15:20-21 ESV).

100% of your Kerusomen donations go to the mission field Paul describes.

Thank You.
